Palm Springs Diaries (Where To Stay, Where To Eat)

SHOP THIS LOOK

My recent trip to California was a complete whirlwind. First I started in Napa for a girl’s trip, then met my husband in LA to explore manufacturing and fabric sources for AiW Style. After 48 hours of learning EVERYTHING we could about the LA fashion market scene we were so ready for a getaway. Since it was a short drive away (well depending on the traffic) Palm Springs was the perfect place to go.

Not to mention I’ve ALWAYS WANTED TO GO THERE!!!

Palm Springs is basically like a mid-century modern playground for someone like me. It’s like my favorite episodes of Mad Men became an actual place… and I wanted to soak up every second of it. So instead of telling you all about it, I’m going to show you what I loved. And check out where to stay in Palm Springs along with where we ate!

Where to stay in Palm Springs…

ARRIVE HOTEL Palm Springs

We stayed at the ARRIVE Hotel and it turned out to be just what we wanted! Mid-century vibes, with modern huge rooms, and great restaurants on site. We really liked Wexler’s for brunch (order the pancakes) and Cartel for coffee. It’s also a short walk to all the shops and restaurants downtown. I definitely recommend it!

Colony Palms Hotel

We actually planned on staying at the Colony Palms Hotel but had to cancel our reservations since we ended up staying longer in LA. We did however check it out to see what it’s like. The hotel had this chill and elegant vibe. Very quiet and laid back chic. If you’re looking for a more reserved environment, THIS is your hotel. (And if you want to party go to the ACE!)

Parker Palm Springs

I’ve always wanted to check out the Parker. I mean, how can a hotel decorated by Jonathan Adler not be amazing?! And it was even BETTER in person. Next time I definitely want to stay there. It’s supposed to have the most beautiful gardens but you can only explore them as a guest. Let’s just say it’s definitely worth the hype.

Restaurants in Palm Springs

King's Highway

Take a vintage looking diner and make it stylish and delicious… that’s the King’s Highway. There’s also a full bar which never hurts. It’s located at the ACE hotel so you know it’s going to be hipster chic. This is the place to sooth your hangover or just have a really goooood grilled cheese. Probably the first (and last) diner I’ll ever love.

mister parker's

One of the most interesting dinner experiences ever. Mister Parker’s is basically it’s just as it’s described… “dark, discreet, and decadent.” For something so themed I didn’t expect the food to actually be very good. And while not everything was perfection, it was pretty close. And the ambiance made up for it. Afterwards, have drinks at the Mini Bar then park yourself in front of the famous DRUGS sign. Because you don’t need drugs to fall down the rabbit hole of this crazy hotel.
