I spent last weekend in California soaking up laughter and making new memories at Coachella 2017.  There are truly few things that make me happier than good vibes, great music, and nonstop entertainment — and that’s exactly what the weekend was all about.  My best friends and I ventured out West to join RayBan in LA — first, celebrating their pop-up at The Grove — before then venturing out to their desert oasis in Palm Springs.  There were many photo ops to be had but more importantly, many memories to be made.  We soaked up the sun at pool parties by day and ended each night feeling the music and crowds of artists like Future, The XX, D.R.A.M., DJ Khaled, Kendrick Lamar, Lorde, Tove Lo, to name a few.

The sun always seems brighter, dresses a bit shorter, and life is just a little easier out in California. There’s something about that desert sun that always brings out the laughter and joy to us East Coast transplants, but I guess I can also credit all the music and sheer entertainment that comes out of Indio during the festival weekend.

Most of my outfit were that of minimalistic separates — landing on lightweight fabrics and giving accessories the identity they deserve.  I rotated between RayBans’ Ja-Jo and ‘The General‘ for sunglass options — the perfect feminine-meets-masculine summer must-haves.  The two shades are probably the most neutral sunglasses I could pair with any of my summer outfits and most likely what I’ll be doing all summer long, not to mention, the variety of colors also help.  I mixed the color variations of “Ja-Jo” with more neutral outfits including this all-white ensemble while pairing ‘The General’ with just about everything else.

Palm Springs and Indio were the perfect teasers for things to come this summer, but I just can’t wait for the arrival of heatwaves and sun on the East Coast.  Good things by the time the season arrives, I’ll be prepared with shades in hand and outfits hung.
